Form & size: Very low, spreading carpet; ~8–12 in tall, 6–10+ ft spread; trailing stems root as they run, knitting soil.
Foliage: Fine, scale-like blue-gray in spring–summer; attractive purple cast in cold weather.
Light: Full sun for best color and density (tolerates light shade).
Soil & water: Thrives in well-drained, sandy or rocky soils; drought-tolerant once established; avoid wet/heavy clay.
Hardiness: USDA Zones 3–9; good wind and salt tolerance (coastal/roadside friendly).
